What Is a good number of impressions on LinkedIn?
For organic LinkedIn posts, the median is roughly 3,700 impressions per post, though organic reach has declined significantly in the past year. For paid LinkedIn Ads, the median B2B advertiser generates around 55,000 impressions per month. But raw numbers matter less than how those impressions are distributed.
The two most common problems in B2B LinkedIn Ads are excessive concentration and insufficient frequency.
Without careful management, roughly 80% of your paid impressions hit the same 20% of target accounts. These are usually the largest companies in your audience, with the most junior employees. Monitor your demographics report regularly and exclude or isolate oversized accounts to make sure you're actually reaching decision-makers at mid-market accounts with shorter sales cycles.
Don't worry too much if you don't have especially high penetration numbers. Only about 50% of your ICP audience is active on LinkedIn in any given month. But you want to make sure a couple giant companies are eating up your entire budget.
On frequency, a target of 5–8 impressions per month per person is the right range for cold campaigns. Below that, prospects won't remember you. This means staying disciplined about not oversizing your audience relative to your budget.
